Reports run on Dec. 16th 2021:  The CDC VAERS to download reports. 
In August 2021 my totals were quite different: 20,216
Very likely that cases were removed after examination. Does it make it legit?
I'm not qualified to judge the process. Taking a look at 'The Vaccine Report' made by Physicians might be more accurate.  In September 2021, Physicians extracted 15,386 deaths & 792,963 injury reports from VAERS?

But one thing for sure, in light of Pfizer requesting 75 years to release the data the FDA requested, is very suspicious. That the FDA agrees to it is even more suspicious.
