"You shall not boil a young goat in its mother’s milk."
This verse is repeated in Exodus 23:19; 34:26; Deuteronomy 14:21
This is where 'religion' and traditions of men swerve of the truth. A simple verse, misinterpreted or else by the Rabbis, causes a whole series of traditions and practices God did NOT command, nor is it in the statutes.
Jesus said in
Mark 7:5 Then the Pharisees and scribes asked Him, “Why do Your disciples not walk according to the tradition of the elders, but eat bread with unwashed hands?”
6 He answered and said to them, “Well did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written: ‘This people honors Me with their lips, But their heart is far from Me.
7 And in vain they worship Me, Teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’
8 For laying aside the commandment of God, you hold the tradition of men—the washing of pitchers and cups, and many other such things you do.”
And in modern days separating the plates for meat, from the plates for cheese or milk products. Not eating a cheese burger, because they 'cannot mix meat and milk products'.
And many other traditions not called for in the statutes and commands of God.
No, the verse literally means what it says, and nothing more.
An affront to the mother goat. Yes God loves even the animals he created, and animals understand more than we think.
