A group of Republican lawmakers are backing 35 Navy service members who are suing the Pentagon and Navy over the military's coronavirus vaccine mandate.

“At a time when our adversaries continue to increase their quantitative and qualitative advantage against our forces, we should seek to ensure that no policy, even unintentionally, hinders military readiness,” _  Sen. Jim Inhofe, R-Okla.

All Air Force and Space Force members are required to be vaccinated by Nov. 2. Navy and Marine Corps members have until Nov. 28, and Army soldiers have until Dec. 15.

The Senate passed final legislation this week that would prohibit the service branches from dishonorably discharging any member who refused to get the coronavirus vaccine. The measure, which was supported by Republicans in the House and the Senate, allows those who declined the vaccine to receive certain benefits after leaving the military.
