Not Heaven Bound, but Meet the Lord in the Air

1 Thessalonians 4

15 For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep.
16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first.
17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord.

Is Christ coming alone? No, he is coming with the Saints. Coming down.
"we shall always be with the Lord" Yes, on earth with him forever. Yes, we will live with our ancestors and lost family members who were worthy of Heaven.
For those of us who will die before Christ's return, we might spend a short time in Heaven (if worthy). Short time? I say this because I believe is return is going to be soon. The Age of Grace is over.
1 Thessalonians 3:13 so that He may establish your hearts blameless in holiness before our God and Father at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all His saints.
Jude 1:14 Now Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied about these men also, saying, “Behold, the Lord comes with ten thousands of His saints,
Matthew 24:30 Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
31 And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

Enoch 2

Behold, he comes with ten thousands of his saints, to execute judgment upon them, and destroy the wicked, and reprove all the carnal for everything which the sinful and ungodly have done, and committed against him.

So, if not Heaven bound then where?
When Christ Jesus returns (the Day of the Lord), he will gather his people for their safety, because he comes to destroy the wicked, and to start his Millennial Kingdom (as it is stated in Revelation 20). This Kingdom of God will be on earth and very much physical. Not abstract like some prefer to believe. the curse will be lifted and men once more will live as long as trees.
Paradise was once next to hell separated by a 'chasm'. Christ took Paradise into Heaven with him some times after his death and or as he Ascended. At his 2nd coming those who are in Paradise in Heaven are coming down with him to live a physical eternal life, even though there will be a final test at the end of the Millennium, a final test for eternity on earth.
The following is an after thought while taking a walk outside.
Once in the air, while Christ destroys the wicked, "Then the woman fled into the wilderness, where she has a place prepared by God, that they should feed her there one thousand two hundred and sixty days."
The woman of Revelation 12, could be the Bride of Christ. A place prepared by God, while the earth is cleansed, after being taken up.
Another thought. I beleive, from what we can read in Scriptures, life in the Kingdom of God will be very similar to how the Amish people live. Amish are a group of Christians that live in the USA.
