Human Life Span

6021 years ago: the recorded first Man. This first Man lived to be 930 years old.
He however was not the oldest man on record. The oldest Men were:

  1. Methuselah: 969 years old.
  2. Jared: 962 years old.
  3. Noah: 950 years old.
  4. Adam (the first): 930 years old, after the Garden of Eden.
  5. Seth: 912 years old.
  6. Cainan: 910 years old.
  7. Enos: 905 years old.
  8. Mahalaeel: 895 years old.
  9. Lamech: 777 years old.
  10. Shem: 600 years old.

Genesis 6:3 And the Lord said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.
Genesis 6:5 And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
Just before the Flood, God decreed that Man shall thereafter only live to be 120 years old. Coincidentally, this is the age that our system of Medicare bases the maximum age when estimating Medicare benefits of retired people.

After the Flood period, some men still lived very many years. Including Noah and his sons that were born before the great Flood, here are the record holders that were recorded:

  1. Noah: 950 years old.
  2. Shem: 600 years old.
  3. Arphaxad: 483 years old.
  4. Eber: 464 years old.
  5. Selah: 433 years old.
  6. Peleg and Reu: 239 years old.
  7. Serug: 230 years old.
  8. Terah: 205 years old.
  9. ISAAC (son of Abraham): 180 years old.
  10. ABRAHAM: 175 years old. Abraham was 100 years old when Isaac was born to Sarah. Sarah died at 127 years old.
Gilgamesh or Nimrod, is said to have ruled the city of Uruk for 126 years. (Gilgamesh epic)

Interestingly enough, the oldest Human recorded in modern history is a Woman:
Jeanne Calment, a French woman who died in 1997 at age 122.
