Prophecies Became History

This post will be a work in progress. Hinted by a non quite believer, deep in my soul, or should I say spirit, I felt compeled to list the Prophecies by the Prophets of the Old Testament that came true or became Historical Fact. Why only the Old Testament and not the New Testament? New Testament Prophecies haven't come true yet, since we can't call Jesus Christ only a Prophet. The Son of God, Son of Man, gave us warnings, his expectations, and his purpose.

Jesus of Nazareth told of the coming destruction of the 2nd temple, and it did occur in 70 CE.
Matthew 24
1 And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to him for to shew him the buildings of the temple.
2 And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.

3100 BC : Enoch

Although Enoch is not featured as a Prophet in the Old Testament, he did Prophecy of the destruction of the world by a worldwide flood, in his book mostly written for his son Methuselah and his descendants. The big question is was there truly a worldwide Flood? Did it occur? Some Paleontologists and Archeologists would argue there is plenty of evidence of a huge flood. The Bible states that the Ark of Noah rested on Mt. Ararat, and archeological surveys did locate two pieces of the Ark. The bottom of the hull is frozen in ice at the top, and the upper hull is covered by sediments at the bottom.

1900 BC : Abraham

Genesis 17:19 And God said, Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son indeed; and thou shalt call his name Isaac: and I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his seed after him.
20 And as for Ishmael, I have heard thee: Behold, I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly; twelve princes shall he beget, and I will make him a great nation.
21 But my covenant will I establish with Isaac, which Sarah shall bear unto thee at this set time in the next year.

Abraham (99 yrs old) was told his wife Sarah (90 yrs old) would give him a son. This did come true, as Isaac's descendants became the Israelites (God's chosen), whereas Ishmael gave way to the Arab nations.

800 BC: Isaiah

7:14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.

9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

53:1 Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the Lord revealed?
2 For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.
3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
7 He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.
8 He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken.
9 And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth.
10 Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in his hand.
11 He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.
12 Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.

In these prophecies, Isaiah is describing the birth, life, suffering, and death of Jesus Christ, as an intercessor between us and God for our sins and transgressions.

Sensing New Testament Prophecies

They may not be a historical fact, but some of the prophecies of the New Testament are starting to peek into our timeline. Could it mean End Times are near?

48 AD : Timothy
1 Timothy 4
1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;
3 Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.
4 For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:
